Google Beach at the Lido for the Venice Film Festival
The curtain has fallen on the 83rd Venice Film Festival at the Lido di Venezia, and the major beach clubs of the Lido are celebrating their successful results from this edition. Beyond Des Bains 1900, which has confirmed itself as the favorite beach establishment of cinema stars and the beach of cinema and parties, and Beach Hotel Excelsior, the “institutional” venue of beach life during the event, special mention goes to the initiatives launched by Venezia Spiagge, particularly the transformation of the Blue Moon pool into Google Beach.
The spaces of Venezia Spiagge hosted two hubs: Blue Lounge, in its second edition, and the new Redmoon Terrace, transforming the shoreline into a platform dedicated to networking, content production, and relationships between the public, companies, and operators.
Blue Lounge, curated by 2night and Echo with Venezia Spiagge and Vela, remained active from September 2 to 12, and this year featured Google as main partner. From September 10 to 12, Google Beach offered a program dedicated to the meeting between technology and digital entertainment, involving YouTube, creators, and protagonists of online communication, supported by a network of media partners.
From September 4 to 9, Redmoon Terrace animated the Bluemoon at Piazzale Bucintoro. The Feelstudio project, created with The Code, combines hospitality and editorial production through photographic sets, press junkets, interviews, and social content. Guests included Alessandro Borghi and Herbert Ballerina.
For Venezia Spiagge, the two projects confirm the Lido’s ability to attract major international brands and operators, enhancing beach facilities as venues for events, communication, and entertainment while strengthening collaboration between public and private sectors.
“Our historic spaces,” commented Pierluigi Padovan, president of Venezia Spiagge Spa, “have transformed into global strategic hubs, combining the charm of the shoreline with technology, cinema, major brands, and talent. Hosting two stages of this international caliber simultaneously on our shoreline demonstrates the extraordinary versatility and centrality of our facilities. At the direction of the municipal administration, the goal is to enhance the territory by offering unique logistical and environmental assets to global brands, majors, and prominent media. Projects like Redmoon Terrace at Bluemoon and Blue Lounge perfectly integrate the historic charm of the Lido with technological innovation, social media, and the film industry. This is concrete proof of how collaboration between public and private sectors can generate cultural and economic value of the highest profile for the entire island. The facilities involved, starting with the iconic Bluemoon complex, continue to remain available to residents and delegates of the Film Festival, ensuring perfect coexistence between the natural beauty of the Venice sea and the exclusive lifestyle of the festival”.
“This demonstrates that ‘it can be done’,” stated Venice’s Mayor, Simone Venturini, “and the choice of major international digital and communication entities to develop initiatives here confirms the potential of an island capable of hosting contemporary projects with global reach. We want to strengthen the relationship with private entities that choose to invest in our city, building collaborations capable of generating opportunities and concrete benefits for the territory. Venice and the Lido have the expertise, spaces, and organizational capacity to manage projects of this level”.
