Poseidonia Earns Circular Economy and Zero Waste Cuisine Certification
The commitment to sustainability of Poseidonia Beach Club in Marina di Ascea (Salerno) is strengthened by the achievement of a new international certification. This is the ISO/TS 17033:2019, issued by Certi W, for the ethical claim “Reduced waste menu and circular cuisine“. A further success for a beach establishment already considered a national and worldwide model, having won the Audit People Award for three consecutive years as a sustainability leader in the Campania region and, in 2025, the national award in the same category.
The recognition rewards a food service model based on reducing food waste, enhancing raw materials, and a cuisine capable of combining sustainability with gastronomic excellence. It adds to the ISO 20121 certification for sustainable management of activities.
A result that demonstrates how it is possible to offer a high-level gastronomic experience while adopting concrete practices to protect the environment. At the heart of the project is a simple yet ambitious philosophy: reduce waste, use resources consciously, and enhance every ingredient. Circular cuisine takes shape through careful menu planning, efficient raw material management, intelligent recovery of surplus, and waste reduction, transforming sustainability into added value for guests.
“Sustainability must be demonstrated with concrete and verifiable facts – says “Captain” Gianni Rizzo, owner of Poseidonia Beach Club –. This is why we chose to subject our work to independent certification processes. After ISO 20121, this new certification represents a further piece of our daily commitment to increasingly responsible tourism and food service capable of combining excellence, respect for the territory, and waste reduction. We want to demonstrate that reduced-waste cuisine is not only possible, but can offer a high-level gastronomic experience, in which sustainability, quality, and creativity become a single value”.
