Ownership Change at Forte: Bagno Cesare Gets New Partner
There’s a change in ownership structure for Bagno Cesare at Forte dei Marmi. According to reports in the newspaper La Nazione, 50% of the shares have been acquired by Casamare, the “in piazzetta” restaurant owned by entrepreneur Filippo Baldassini. The seller is Gabriele Matteoni, who for years was the face and soul of the beach establishment and had already formalized a partnership last February with entrepreneur Sergio Iorio, founder and CEO of Italmatch Chemicals, through the sale of half of the company. Iorio leads a group active in the chemical sector with 20 facilities worldwide and a turnover exceeding one billion euros and was listed by Forbes among the top 50 Italian managers. His business ventures also include the refounding of Fc Pistoiese.
With this operation, Casamare further expands its reach. The brand, characterized by a high-end food offering, arrived in 2023 in Piazza Garibaldi and subsequently extended its presence to beach dining, taking over food operations at Bagno Alfredo and Bagno Montecristo.
The operation also comes at a phase of strong growth for Casamare. A month ago, Pg Food Brands, a new group created by Filippo Sironi and Gianmarco Venuto with the objective of accelerating the brand’s expansion, entered the capital. The two entrepreneurs are already owners of Il Mannarino, a format born in Milan that has reinterpreted the traditional butcher shop model by pairing it with dining: meat can be purchased at the counter or cooked and consumed directly in the venue.
Il Mannarino currently has 25 outlets across Lombardia, Piemonte, Liguria, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto. Pg Food Brands’ portfolio also includes the brands “Rosita Galletto e Birra” and “Veramente-Abitudini Italiane”, while the group aims to close 2026 with 60 million euros in revenue. With a strengthened corporate structure and new resources to support growth, Casamare is thus preparing its debut at Bagno Cesare, with the goal of making its mark on the 2027 season of the beach club.
