Their signature dish is the cod fritter, an essential meal for lunch and dinner for those who frequent Sand e Sale feeling beach in Isolaverde (Venice), which has won the Cà Maiol Award as the best beach club restaurant in Veneto 2025. An achievement that the Tiozzo family, owners of the establishment, celebrated in grand style by organizing a party with nearly one hundred guests, extending invitations to institutions, “historic” customers and colleagues from the Chioggia area, the municipality of which Isolaverde is part.

The celebration – which was naturally attended by the curators of Guide to Italy’s Best Beach Clubs, Tiziana Di Masi and Andrea Guolo, and representatives from Herita Marzotto Wine Estates, the group that owns the Cà Maiol winery that branded the award – lasted until late into the night and had as its highlight the award ceremony, in the presence of Chioggia’s Tourism Councilor, Riccardo Griguolo. The recognition was then awarded to Elena, Willy and Andrea Tiozzo, second-generation members, who wanted the founders, dad Gianni and mom Mara, to join them on stage.

The beach club has been the subject, over the years, of a series of investments that have transformed a small lido on a strip of beach between two major rivers, the mouths of the Brenta and Adige, into a tourist destination, the most fascinating in Isolaverde, so much so as to merit a “two umbrellas” rating from the reference guide in the Italian seaside panorama. The distinctive feature of Sand e Sale is the presence of the Suites Kibanda, which are tents designed and exclusively created by Brescia architect Marino Novello. The establishment is highly sought after as a location for events, weddings, corporate dinners and other gathering occasions, thanks also to the quality of its restaurant Aquasalata.

And the future? A new project is about to begin that will complete the hospitality “supply chain” of Sand e Sale, which already today has a camping solution with La Conchiglia, located a short distance from the beach and equipped with a series of cozy bungalows. In September, work will begin on the construction of Sand e Sale Home, a resort overlooking the prehistoric dunes that separate the beach from the residential area.

Sand e Sale beach is wide and divided into a more internal part, protected by windbreak nets, with suites and ornamental plants, and a seafront area with stations on the left and scattered loungers for those who love sunbathing without protection. You can have lunch both on the veranda and, for the snack part, directly on the beach. Without giving up the cod fritters, of course, although the menu is excellent for every offering, from appetizers to desserts, and the wine list lives up to the reputation of this establishment.
