A curious piece of news, launched by the newspaper La Nazione, always well-informed about matters concerning Versilia. It’s a real “aggressive” search by a Milan-based company, which appears in the Tuscan publication as Blu Beach spa, but more likely refers to Blue Beach, whose mission is to invest in beach resort assets.

In the article published by La Nazione we read: “In recent weeks, beach resort owners received (surprisingly) a genuine expression of interest from lawyer Federica Gualtieri on behalf of Blu Beach spa of Milan (actually Blue Beach, editor’s note), which is focusing its attention on Forte dei Marmi. An email with very clear content, already expressed in the subject line ‘Purchase offer for your resort’ and then with the text: Blu Beach spa, a leading company, strongly capitalized with its own resources, operating in the beach resort sector with various activities underway in Italy, has been given the task of assisting in the activities necessary for the acquisition of beach resorts in Tuscany. The hunt therefore, despite the expected auctions imposed by the Bolkestein directive, is open and grains of sand are valued ‘worth their weight in gold’.

Last April 23rd, Blue Beach transformed into a joint-stock company and laid the foundations for developing its business project by increasing capital with new shares and bringing in a plurality of financial investors, already securing its first five resorts. The company is managed by Simone Cioni, who is also its co-founder, and who declared following the corporate transformation: “We believe the market offers a great opportunity, in the coming years, for a group that aims to bring professionalism and innovation to a very promising sector of Italian and European entertainment and tourism”.
