Safe sun exposure, awareness campaign in 80 Romagna beach clubs

Safely exposing yourself to the sun, protecting yourself from harmful solar rays by using high protection creams, which are essential to prevent the risk of melanoma. In Romagna, an awareness campaign was launched today involving over 80 beach facilities, thanks to the role of the Istituto oncologico romagnolo.

The campaign is called Good sun good skin. The institute’s volunteers will distribute special prevention kits until July 15th. The project presentation was held at Beach dei Valori in Punta Marina. This is reported by the online newspaper Ravenna Today.

“For 47 years the Ior has been dealing with research, assistance and prevention – explains the general director of Ior, Fabrizio Miserocchi – but things have evolved over time. Today we have the opportunity to tackle topics like prevention in more effective and practical ways and thus manage to reach families and children. The campaign goes in this direction”.

In partnership with the municipalities of the three provinces involved, Visit Romagna, the Ausl and Conad (which provided the sunscreen), at least 15,000 kits will be distributed in which citizens will find a sunscreen cream with SPF 50 and instructions on application and correct behaviors to adopt during sun exposure.
