Beach resorts increase, 108 more in 2025

The number of active beach resorts in Italy has risen to 7,352 units, 108 more than last season. This information was made known by Unioncamere, as reported by the specialized publication Mondo Balneare, which released figures on leisure industry businesses based on Movimprese data.

As of June 30, 2025, beach resorts in Italy had reached 7,352 units. Out of the total 41,451 Italian businesses in the leisure sector (namely those engaged in sectors ranging from outdoor experiences to nightlife, from major events to local attractions), beach resorts represent 17.7%.

Looking at the regional rankings, beach resort management sees Emilia-Romagna at the top with 1,048 establishments (14.25% of the national total), ahead of Tuscany (918) and Liguria (807). Regarding individual provinces, Savona tops the podium with 445 establishments, followed by Lucca (400) and Rimini (409).
