Double award for a model beach club in the Ligurian Ponente. After establishing itself at national level as the best pet-friendly beach club, winning the Loovers Award at the Gran Galà dei Beach Club d’Italia last May 9th, Baba Beach (Alassio) has doubled up with the recognition as best beach club in Liguria for quality and sustainability (Audit People Award).

And it was a great event, in terms of quality of attendees, the award ceremony, which took place on Thursday August 7th directly at Baba Beach. With Andrea Guolo and Tiziana Di Masi, authors and curators of the Guide to the best beach clubs in Italy, were present and represented the Municipality of Alassio with the deputy mayor with delegation to Environment and Tourism, Angelo Galtieri; the Liguria Region with regional councilor Rocco Invernizzi; and then there were the president of Marina di Alassio Rinaldo Agostini, the president of the Alassio Hotel Association Simone Giardini, the president of the Savona Provincial Hotel Union Stefania Piccardo and numerous other guests.

Among the characteristics that earned the Alassio establishment the prestigious recognition are the spaciousness and the context immersed in greenery, the subdivision into three areas – adults only, families with children and bau beach – and the great attention to sustainability, quality of service and welcoming four-legged guests, with shaded spaces and dedicated services. For human clients, in addition to a carefully crafted gastronomic offer, exclusive services are available such as hairdressing area, massages and beauty treatments directly on the beach, as well as small daily touches – from fruit salad to focaccia, from ice cream to sunglasses cleaning.

The deputy mayor of Alassio Angelo Galtieri declared during the award ceremony: “In the days when there is wide debate about the alleged ‘most expensive beach in Italy’, and while there would be much to say about certain rankings, it is essential to emphasize the quality of services offered. Baba Beach, with this prestigious recognition, places itself at a level of excellence and attractiveness such as to bring to our locality a clientele that not only supports the beach club’s business, but feeds the commerce chain, the hotels and promotes the destination. The same goes for the Grand Hotel, which is also included in the guide with its beach. Therefore, the discourse must be reversed: it’s not just a matter of prices, but of value and quality of experience”.

Within the guide, which assigns scores in hundredths and “umbrellas” based on criteria of location, services, design, food, beverage and mood, Liguria is represented by 26 establishments. In addition to Baba Beach, for Alassio the Grand Hotel Beach Club was also included, whose beach was appreciated in the guide for its exclusive services.

Regional and municipal councilor Rocco Invernizzi added: “We congratulate Baba Beach, an excellent establishment in Alassio, and the other awarded locations in Liguria. These recognitions demonstrate how our region can compete at the highest national levels and not only for quality, high-level services, capacity for innovation and attention to sustainability and pet-friendliness”.

The owner of Baba Beach Andrea Della Valle emphasizes: “We are very pleased to have received this important recognition which adds to the one obtained at the beginning of summer as ‘Best Dog Friendly Beach Club in Italy’. I would like to emphasize that this year we are having a very good season in terms of attendance, driven especially by foreign clientele, who are attracted by the quality of Alassio’s sandy beach and the numerous services we offer”.
