Scalo Zero wins best beach restaurant award in Marche
Beach dining in Marche is a serious affair, with offerings focused on the freshest fish and a multitude of options along the entire Adriatic coast. This is why the victory of Scalo Zero, named Best beach restaurant 2026 for the region and winner of the Cà Maiol Award – complete with a celebratory bottle of Prestige Lugana Doc presented by the award-sponsoring company – carries even greater significance.
The gastronomic offering at this restaurant within the beach club managed by Cristian Ramazzotti can be enjoyed in summer with your feet in the sand, but that’s not all. One of Scalo Zero’s greatest strengths is that it’s open year-round. In fact, the guide’s curators had the opportunity to test it in the middle of winter. It’s an extreme and courageous choice made by the company managing the beach club located near the mouth of the Misa river, yet justified by the fact that Senigallia is no longer just a seasonal tourism destination: it’s becoming a year-round destination, and when tourists arrive even when temperatures are cool, they still expect to find places open.
Senigallia is also a gourmet destination, boasting Michelin-starred restaurants, premium pastry shops and award-winning gelaterias. Scalo Zero has tapped into this winning formula with cuisine from chef Simone Pongetti, creative pizzas prepared year-round (try the fresh fish varieties like “fior di sgombro” or “polp fiction”), and cocktails to enjoy by the sea. Dishes worth trying include bronze-cut paccheri with fresh sea bream and red datterini tomatoes as a starter, or the Perla nera burger with swordfish steak. Don’t miss the breakfasts featuring homemade croissants or the legendary Tajapanettone, also created by chef Pongetti.
On the beach you’ll find designer umbrellas that allow air circulation and cream-colored loungers, spaced at acceptable intervals.
