More and more beach lovers are choosing online platforms to book their favorite beach. This is reported by the platform Spiagge.it, leader in beach resort booking and partner of Italianbeach.club. Online bookings have increased by 66% compared to the previous year, in the first phase of the 2026 season. The total value of bookings amounts to 11.3 million euros, up +48% year-on-year, with the number of bookings rising from 63,000 to 105,000 units (+66%).

In particular, during the June 2nd long weekend there was a 76% increase in bookings, 44,000 compared to 25,000 in the same period of 2025. This is a phenomenon mainly driven by domestic bookings: 90% of reservations can be attributed to Italian users, while the remaining 10% comes from abroad. Among foreign tourists, Americans are the most represented nationality with 31% of total bookings, followed by Germans (19%), British (10%) and Austrians (7%). The most chosen cities are Jesolo (2,000 bookings), Grado (1,600), Monopoli (1,500), Vico Equense (1,300), Castel Volturno (1,110), Meta (1,000) and Bacoli (1,000).

In year-on-year comparison, bookings attributable to Italian users increased from 45,000 to 79,000, with a growth of +73%. The Italian share rises from 72% to 75% of the total number, confirming the strength of domestic demand. The international component is also growing significantly: bookings from abroad increased from 18,000 to 26,000 (+48%), with a weight of 25% of the total.

Among the most requested destinations by foreigners, Positano confirms itself at the top with 22% of foreign bookings, followed by Grado (12%), Monterosso al Mare (8%), Monopoli (6%), Paraggi (3%).

Regarding source markets, the United States confirms itself as the first country with 40% of international bookings. Germany and Austria follow, both at 11%, United Kingdom at 8% and Switzerland at 6%.

“The data tells the story of a very positive start to the season, with the market growing more than half compared to 2025 and demand strengthening both from Italy and abroad”, comments Gabriele Greco, CEO of Spiagge.it. “For beach operators this means reading the season not only in terms of volumes, but also in terms of demand mix: a more present domestic public and a growing international component, with the United States as the first foreign market. In this scenario, the ability to calibrate availability, services and communication on different targets can become a real competitive advantage”
