Puravita Beach Resort, Pachino

When describing Puravita, one risks losing the impartiality that should characterize a guide, because this is a magical place. And it is so not only for its location, not only for the style imprinted by the Rapisarda family, who created on the wild beach of Pachino a structure we have defined as a “sauvage luxury beach resort”. It is also and above all for the care and passion that distinguish the work of Beppe and Mattia Rapisarda, father and son, who transmit to their team a cult of hospitality and a management approach based on small and great attentions towards guests, who feel divinely comfortable at Puravita, as one can clearly sense from the mood that characterizes the facility. How does it present itself? It is a Bedouin-style camp in a desert setting with sea views, featuring spacious stations set up on a soft and rippled sandy beach, with one of the most beautiful stretches of water on the southern side of the island and with a charm amplified by curtains swaying in the wind. It is a place of affection: guests discover it by chance, perhaps by reading this guide, perhaps through the many newspaper articles that tell of the beach’s wonders, then they fall in love and never leave. The human factor is fundamental, with Mattia managing everything under the watchful but discreet eye of Beppe. Privacy is guaranteed by the distance between one station and another, and what stations! Total comfort, spaces where you can store your belongings, a large double bed where an “extended” family can comfortably stay. The day passes quickly between a bottle of sparkling Sicilian wine – a must of summer 2025 – and an international, local or low-alcohol cocktail. The restaurant serves delicious dishes such as pasta with pistachio cream and red shrimp, the seasonal best seller, and grilled swordfish with oil, salt, pepper and lime zest, but also worth trying, perhaps when the sun is less intense, is the sliced meat with french fries. Among the desserts you can choose whether to stay within regional boundaries, with Sicilian cassatina, or go beyond, with crème brûlée or tiramisu. Wine list strongly Sicilian and even the spritz is characterized – or rather, distinguished – by the use of sparkling wine made in Sicily. Not to be missed is the Sunday evening party, with DJ set from 8:00 PM until dusk.
