Gilda, Forte dei Marmi

Open all year round, Gilda is a reference point for Forte dei Marmi clientele even in the winter months, when the colors become more intense and the sea is a spectacle, seen from the indoor dining room of the restaurant and beach club redesigned by Piero Lissoni after the tragic fire of 2021 and dominated by light penetrating through the omnipresent windows. The kitchen is the beating heart of this establishment founded in 1984 by Luigi Tabarani and Adua Minari, husband and wife, and today managed by their daughter Ilda Tabarani and her husband Riccardo Di Giovanni. Adua is always in the kitchen, as she is responsible for preparing the desserts, supporting executive chef Sauro Antonioli and his brigade. During the summer months, beach activities are added to the restaurant operations, featuring 72 tents and 18 umbrellas, with ample spaces available to clientele that are the result of the 2017 acquisition of Oltremare, the beach establishment adjacent to Gilda. At Gilda, the specialty is fish all year round, from Viareggio prawns to tartare appetizers, to bavette aglio olio e peperoncino with raw red shrimp carpaccio among the first courses, to seafood catalana as a main course, concluding with traditional desserts like tarts or torta della nonna. At lunch, in addition to fish, you can enjoy pizzas, also with service directly to your beach chair. For those who want to be “Gilda” even at night, Villa Gilda is available, the family home located in the Versilia hills with various suites, heated swimming pool, sauna and gym available to guests. The beverages? We are at the highest imaginable levels in a beach establishment, although Gilda is certainly more than a normal beach club.
