SottoSopra Beach, Diamante

The group founded by Maurizio Aiello includes two pubs in the city of Cosenza and two other beach clubs in addition to SottoSopra, which was taken over twelve years ago from a previous management. The same name of the beach club characterizes a nightclub that is also located in Diamante. Starting from these premises, it is natural that for SottoSopra it is important not only to function as a beach resort, but also as a venue for events, DJ sets and nightlife. On the beach we find 130 stations to which are added the “palmoni” present in the lounge area and which are the most popular during musical evenings. From the 2024 season, the chiringuito has been set up facing the sea, previously located in the central area of the structure. In addition to the more traditional restaurant, there is a sushi restaurant in the part closest to the shoreline. Beautiful is the sea-view dining room with white tables and chairs, where you can enjoy specialties such as spaghetto alla Maurizio (mussels, toasted breadcrumbs, pistachio granules), frese cunzate and, for dessert, small homemade babà filled with cream. The location is very well-maintained among tropical plants, hedges, large palm trees on the beach that welcome guests to a spectacular seaside spot with views of Cirella island, which becomes the protagonist every year for the maxi swimming competition with two hundred competitors who start from SottoSopra, reach and circumnavigate the island and then return to base. In the height of summer, massage stations are set up on the right side of the garden.
