Lido Tamatete, Cala Sinzias

Tamatete, like the Gauguin painting, artist beloved by Daniele Bellandi and Anna Palmisano, husband and wife, who realized their dream of opening a chiringuito on Cala Sinzias beach, initially furnished with plastic chairs from a well-known ice cream brand. Then, as Daniele says, things got a bit out of hand and that minimal idea became today’s Tamatete, a 110-station facility covering a significant portion of this two-kilometer stretch located in Castiadas, famous for its soft white sand. Instead of plastic chairs, today we find African straw umbrellas, white loungers, a table for each station and the possibility to add an extra lounger for more space. Tamatete has all the services of a resort and village but is neither a village nor a resort. It offers dining, aperitifs, DJ sets and lounge music concerts, full moon parties with street artists. It’s excellently organized with an area where children can play freely and another where peace reigns and you can enjoy the silence, the sea and on-site massages. Rubber boats and sailboats are available for rent. There’s the fusion restaurant combining Sardinian, Mediterranean and regional Italian cuisines, open evenings too and nine months a year, and there’s the kiosk where focaccia is kneaded, risen and baked homemade. The menu features an aperitif selection with tacos, scrocchiarelle, pinse and platters, and lunch and dinner options with dishes like cuttlefish veils, seafood fregula, turbot fillet in hazelnut crust. There’s also the bartender station created from a recovered boat, beachside dinners with tables for two right by the sea, and catamaran service to organize offshore excursions with meals included.
