The big novelty of Guide to the Best Beach Clubs of Italy 2026, in bookstores since April 24th, is the inclusion of Italian lake establishments. Additionally, there are new evaluation criteria, such as investment propensity, which have led the authors Andrea Guolo and Tiziana Di Masi to award ten beach establishments – compared to 14 in the first edition – the highest recognition of “three gold umbrellas”.

The result is a unique guide in Italy that brings together the 300 best Italian beach establishments, covering all coastal regions. This selection is the result of a ten-thousand-kilometer journey across the entire Italian coast, along five seas, three lakes, and sixteen Italian regions. This journey was undertaken by the guide’s curators, journalist Andrea Guolo and theater actress and storyteller Tiziana Di Masi in the role of experiential consultant. Each entry tells the story of the experience, mood, and uniqueness of the beach club visited. The assignment of a score expressed in hundredths for each criterion – location, services, design, food, beverage, facility mood, and propensity for investment over the years – gave rise to the final ranking, from one to three umbrellas.

The Italian establishments that received, according to the curators’ judgment, the maximum recognition granted by the guide, namely the three gold umbrellas, are located in Liguria (Bagni Fiore in Paraggi), Friuli Venezia Giulia (Tivoli Portopiccolo in Sistiana), two in Tuscany (Alpemare and Bagno Piero in Forte dei Marmi), three in Sardinia (Phi Beach, Nikki Beach and Belmond Romazzino in Arzachena), one in Campania (La Scogliera in Positano) and two in Sicily (Nuova Beach Paradiso in Letojanni, Lido Villeggiatura of the Belmond Villa Sant’Andrea in Taormina).

“This guide,” explain the authors, “tells the story of what have now become ‘destinations within destinations’, because today more and more tourists, including international ones, choose Italy during summer not only for the beauty of its coast and seaside locations, but also to discover and enjoy the excellent offering of Italian beach clubs, true attraction centers. Now, after spending three summers searching for Italy’s best beach clubs, we are fully active during winter as well. In October, also for Morellini publisher, the ‘Guide to the Best Mountain Clubs of Italy’ will be released, dedicated to another Italian tourism excellence: the refuges located along ski slopes and reachable on skis.”
