Nutrition & Longevity Festival, conceived and organized by the Valter Longo Foundation, is coming to Cervia, at the Fantini Club beach. The event dedicated to sports, longevity and nutrition was presented at a press conference at the headquarters of the Emilia-Romagna Region in the presence of outgoing President Stefano Bonaccini. A free event, unique of its kind, dedicated to healthy longevity and the promotion of a balanced lifestyle, balanced nutrition and physical exercise, an opportunity to explore the connection between nutrition and longevity.

The festival program includes Workshops, Masterclasses, Cooking Shows, dedicated to raising public awareness about the importance of health culture through nutrition, with industry experts, and sports sessions and recreational activities designed for adults and children. The event is organized by the Valter Longo Onlus Foundation, which was established in 2017 at the behest of Professor Valter Longo with the mission of offering everyone the opportunity for a long and healthy life through a balanced lifestyle, healthy eating and physical exercise, based on solid scientific data and extensive research work.

“I strongly wanted to bring this event to Emilia-Romagna and particularly to Fantini Club,” explains Claudio Fantini, CEO of the Cervia beach club. “For years we have been carrying forward a project that fits well with Professor Longo’s mission. We promote an active lifestyle that centers on the overall wellbeing of the person, starting from sport as a fundamental component, alongside healthy eating, relaxation and fun. As tourism operators, moreover, we are always looking for new content that allows us to encourage people to choose us for their vacations, and this event is undoubtedly high-quality content.” There are 5 pillars on which the philosophy behind the vacation model promoted by Fantini Club is based: movement (BE ACTIVE), relaxation (BE RELAXED), healthy eating (BE HEALTHY), fun (BE POSITIVE) and sustainability (BE SUSTAINABLE). “I think this event – continues Fantini – is a great opportunity to create social culture and a great opportunity for sports tourism to bring people to Emilia-Romagna who want to learn how to improve their quality of life. I strongly believe this could be the first step in making our Region, already considered Motor Valley, Food Valley, Wellness Valley, also a Longevity Valley“.

This idea of Longevity Valley was hypothesized and suggested to regional institutions by the CEO of the Valter Longo Foundation, Antonluca Matarazzo, during the press conference. “I believe there are all the right conditions for the success of an event of this kind – said Stefano Bonaccini also during the press conference – which will take place in a symbolic location for sports on the Adriatic coast. I hope this is just a ‘first time’ and not the only one. This festival addresses themes that are very important to us because they have to do with people’s quality of life, people’s wellbeing.” During the festival, special attention will be dedicated to the little ones, with workshops and educational games to introduce them to the principles of proper nutrition and an active lifestyle.

One of the festival’s highlights will be the election of the World’s Best Longevity Dish 2024 (best longevity dish) through a culinary competition dedicated to chefs by passion or profession, which will be judged by a special jury composed of young people acting as ambassadors and judges. The Nutrition & Longevity Festival is an opportunity for transformation and sharing, with the goal of educating and raising awareness among participants and offering them simple, practical and easily implementable tools to live a long and healthy life. It is an initiative that fits fully within the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, contributing to spreading a “culture of longevity” based on health, sustainability, inclusion and solidarity. According to World Health Organization data worldwide, half of Italian men and women (about 25 million people) are overweight and 1 in 10 are obese (about 5 million). 21.3% of Italian children are overweight and 9.3% are obese. “Since longevity begins in childhood and continues throughout life, the purpose is to unite on one hand children, young people, families and adults and on the other hand nutrition and healthy lifestyle experts to offer everyone practical and simple tools to live healthy and long lives. At the same time, our focus is precisely on young people, the new generations, who will join the experts to award the healthiest and tastiest dishes that are also conducive to longevity,” explains Professor Valter Longo.

So, mark your calendars for the Nutrition & Longevity Festival at Fantini Club in Cervia on September 14 and 15.
