Playa el Flamingo, Marina di Camerota

There’s one thing the Caribbean region envies about Cilento, and that’s the transparency of the sea at Marina di Camerota. And there’s nothing this destination should envy about the Caribbean, ever since the beach club called Playa el Flamingo arrived. Operating since 1998, served by ample parking and managed by an entrepreneur of Venezuelan origin, Josè Pomarico, Playa el Flamingo is a reference point for those who love to experience the beach among sun, music and cocktails. Prices are accessible, from a minimum of 20 to a maximum of 35 euros per spot. The musical evenings that have made this beach club famous throughout the Cilento region include Monday’s white party, Latin Tuesday, Friday’s salsa with live music, and Saturday’s afro house night. What should you try at this beach club? The first thing we suggest is the most obvious: take a swim, because the sea at Marina di Camerota is the best you can find in Campania, thanks to the sandy seabed of its bays, like the one where El Flamingo is located, and the crystal-clear waters. Lots of fish, dozens of meters of visibility, swimming pool effect: truly the best. The second thing is the cuisine, which combines local dishes like friselle with tomato and tuna all at zero kilometers, including the extra virgin olive oil produced directly by the property, with international classics like hamburgers, and some Latin American proposals like tequenos (Venezuelan stringy cheese rolls), empanadas or meat pastelitos. The third is the beverage section. You absolutely must try the Latin American recipes: pina colada, caipirinha, mojito, but also the simpler Flamingo spritz with pessoa. Among the beers, the Latin American style dominates with Mexican Corona or Dominican Presidente. The bay where Playa el Flamingo is located is bordered by two watchtowers and adjoins the small port of Marina di Camerota. The beach club is furnished in colonial style among palm trees (twenty in total, in winter it’s the only part of the establishment that doesn’t get dismantled), umbrellas and yellow-green deck chairs mixed with larger straw and reed stations, the two pink flamingos that appear as the structure’s logo. Among the novelties of the 2025 season is the enhancement of customer service, with dishes and cocktails served directly under the umbrella: everything to provide not just a swim, but a true experience to tell and share on social media.
