Nuova Beach Paradiso

Where Paradise Beach once stood, the historic establishment on the Taormina coast that belonged to the Martorana family and catered to a very popular clientele, for the past couple of years there has been Nuova Beach Paradiso, a name with strong cinematic appeal and cultural identification with Sicily. And it’s a completely different story, whose direction has been entrusted to Stefano Forever, a group that has established itself on the French Riviera with luxury beach culture and now wants to bring an international-style lido under Mount Etna for clientele with high purchasing power. The location lends itself to achieving this objective: it is indeed an establishment positioned at the end of the road, certainly not a place of passage, and equipped with a garden that is nothing short of wonderful, close to the villa where the “Divine” Greta Garbo loved to stay. It features a seawater pool and a support service for yachts navigating the waters of Taormina: this is the pier with walkway, reachable by dinghy to enjoy the beach after days spent on the high seas. And another rarity present in the area is the underground internal parking. Beyond the services, this beach club is a Garden of Eden you wouldn’t want to leave. And the presence of the sea provides the backdrop to a location that is already wonderful in itself among citrus groves, terracotta vases, flowering trees, tables decorated with vegetables and fruit. Scenic and precious, it is the quintessence of Sicily or the idea we have of it, in a finely aristocratic context. The menu combines richness and territory, from tagliolino with truffle to square spaghetti with fried eggplant and salted ricotta, through fresh fish, up to the 3 kg free-range chicken which is the most expensive dish on the menu. And while the wine list is dominated by large formats, the spirits list presents rarities and distillates with prices unattainable for mere mortals but certainly not for the clientele to which the beach club has tied itself. For the future, the aim is a supply chain project, from the owned farm to the table overlooking the Ionian Sea.
