Coastal erosion is a serious problem in Tropea where several beach clubs have lost, over the years, meters and meters of beach, reducing themselves to bare minimum. This problem also affects Calypso, which however finds itself in a privileged position, having plenty of space inside, and in this way has created additional spots in the solarium area and compensated for the loss of space on the shoreline. Calypso indeed has an internal parking lot, from which you access the structure through the restaurant area and from here, along the path that runs alongside the solarium zone, you reach the beach bar. There’s plenty of greenery, with a real internal garden that makes the beach club an ideal place for those seeking more spacious areas, and space is a rare commodity on the splendid Costa degli Dei. And there are also other strengths of Calypso, which contribute to making it the flagship facility on Tropea beach. The first is the view of Tropea. The second is the cuisine, which is why it’s appreciated not only by beach guests but also by customers who come here specifically just to have lunch or dinner at the facility, which employs ten staff members in the kitchens alone. Among the most popular dishes: spaghetti alle vongole, octopus, parmigiana, stuffed peppers, eggplant meatballs. And there’s also the pizzeria with wood-fired oven.
