La Canzone del Mare, Capri

Since the 1950s, Capri’s “dolce vita” has been linked to this establishment whose ownership is the same as Da Luigi ai Faraglioni. It is located in Marina Piccola and accessed via a staircase at the end of which you’ll find two boutiques, the cashier, and then a series of giant photographs from the years when Americans began to discover and love Capri. From “summer memories” you move to contemporary reality. The first sun loungers are set up around the main saltwater pool – the second one is located further on past the restaurant – and from here you can already admire the small pebble beach where other loungers are placed. The sea is intensely blue and its “song” resonates everywhere within the beach club that appears like a diamond set in the rock. The furnishing of the stations is classic: in a Capri beach club, what matters is simply being in Capri, offering the exquisite hospitality that you feel almost everywhere – and this establishment is no exception – and the island’s products, from the freshest fish to fruit, vegetables, and sweets. La Canzone del Mare offers something more: a small resort, Diva Suites, whose rooms have names that recall the divas of the sixties. The rest is done by the view you enjoy from the terraces, the beach, and the sea: that of the Faraglioni and the Scoglio delle Sirene. And then there’s the restaurant with recipes from Capri cuisine. A final note: if La Canzone del Mare was once considered the most expensive beach club in Italy, this is no longer the case today because the per-person price includes drinks, some of which, despite being in Capri, are still too expensive.
