Luigi ai Faraglioni is the most scenic beach club in Capri. The location is unique: facing the faraglioni. There are certainly beach establishments in Italy that are better equipped in terms of facilities, design, more accessible and more luxurious… But luxury here lies in the location, which fears no competition and deserves the highest rating. It was founded in 1932 by Luigi Iacono, whose name the establishment bears, with a royal license because Prince Umberto, future king of May, granted it as a reward following the assistance received after he unfortunately stepped on a sea urchin. Since then, the history of the beach club has accompanied that of Capri, and today continues to do so with its blue and yellow stations on the cliff, the terraces with premium service, the restaurant with iconic dishes like the “malafemmena” linguine so renamed by Totò to whom they were served as a fallback recipe (cherry tomatoes, olives, capers) because there was no fish in the kitchen that day. And many other stories are linked to Da Luigi ai Faraglioni, a beach club coveted by anyone visiting Capri: all the important people have passed through here but as Chiara tells us, fourth generation of the Iacono family (firmly at the helm of the establishment), there are no photos of celebrities hanging simply because, given the workload, they never had time to take them. Reservations are made exclusively online and it’s not easy to find a spot: those who succeed will enjoy a cobalt blue sea in which the Faraglioni are reflected.
