Castello di Miramare, Maccarese

A castle rebuilt in contemporary style by the sea, well known in Rome and surrounding areas, as this is one of the reference venues for organizing events, ceremonies (including weddings) and private parties on the Lazio coast. Miramare may raise some doubts among those who conceive fortresses as heritage from the past, because this one was created artificially, but it is undoubtedly a unique location and also a beach establishment where you can combine a day at the beach with a dining experience offered by a well-organized kitchen: among the dishes on the menu at the Biagiotti al Castello restaurant are the castello mixed raw fish and the three seas salad, tonnarello allo scoglio, Biagiotti paella for two people, Catalonian-style pink prawns, and Miramare salads. The structure is accessed through an impressive hall, to whose left we find a bar from bygone days, while the sunset bar is stationed in the center of the beach, positioned near the stations divided into sunbeds, gazebos and beach umbrellas. Before reaching the sunset bar, from which it is separated by hedges, we find the semi-Olympic swimming pool, among the largest of Lazio beach establishments. Near the dining area, a stage for events has been set up. The structure was designed for grand occasions and can organize dinners for 400 people. Moreover, throughout the summer, the program of events and parties is very intense with music, cinema (with the September Cinema Damare event) and private parties. In addition to the outdoor restaurant, pool privé is available to guests. The coexistence between parties, events and the simple desire to spend a day at the beach is the basis of frequent criticism regarding the Castle’s service level.
