An exceptionally well-maintained beach club, adorned with plants, palm trees, cacti, and oleander flowers that frame the beach club bar positioned right on the beach. All this in a non-touristy territorial context, while at Cactus Beach tourism-oriented initiatives certainly don’t lack. The “gem” for which it has become famous is dinner on the beach, organized for more than 15 years and taking place every evening. The sea, moreover, is among the most beautiful in Calabria (rocky seabed that makes it even more transparent), but that’s the result of Mother Nature’s work. The rest was added by man, David Bumbaca, whose management began in 1994. And David doesn’t lack ideas, having enhanced the service offerings over the years with special attention to families. In addition to entertainment, during dinner parents can enjoy the experience stress-free because there’s an active babysitting service. At lunch time there’s service directly under the umbrella, where you can taste the restaurant’s specialties like the “signature dish” of lemon tagliolini with shrimp and mint, spaghettone aglio olio e peperoncino with sea urchins and lime, delicious homemade desserts like the hazelnut truffle with black cherry. There are pizzas and focaccias, like the one stuffed with swordfish, grana cheese, balsamic vinegar and arugula. For those with gluten intolerance, there’s a dedicated menu. And then many sports activities in harmony with the sea water, from dawn paddle board outings with final breakfast, to dinghies, to aqua gym classes.
