Bagni Peppe, Fano

The bathing history of Fano was written by Bagni Peppe, an establishment founded by Giuseppe Tarini, known as Peppe, grandson of that Ida who already in the early 1900s spent her days on the beach mending bathing suits for fifty cents of lira per day. Essentially, the Tarinis had this business in their blood, and today it’s Silvia, Peppe’s daughter, who carries on the story of the Bagni located on Sassonia beach, so called because it was formed by stones carried downstream by the Metauro river. There’s so much beautiful simplicity in this beach club – perhaps an inappropriate name because Bagni Peppe is an old-style establishment, made up of clientele that returns every year as if they were at home, but after all, what is a club if not a place made of old acquaintances, similar to a circle? Add to this some qualified services, such as the swimming pool that Silvia built without being scared by the Bolkestein directive specter, and then the jacuzzi, the beach bar, extended hours to organize events, parties and entertainment activities. In the 2025 season, the collaboration continued, experimented the previous year, with the bar-playroom Lo Scatolino, which was entrusted with the Sassolino beach bar, which has also become a venue for concerts and aperitifs with DJ sets, as well as a reference point for savory dishes and especially for desserts and its renowned Caffè della Monaca.
